WebTV is a Microsoft trademark for technology that joins television with the Internet. The term "WebTV" is often used incorrectly to describe any type of TV-based Web services. "WebTV Networks" is the proper use of the name.

According to the WebTV Networks site, WebTV gets you connected to the Web from your TV, allowing you to send e-mail, surf the Web, interact with game shows, participate in polls, chat with other viewers, program your VCR, search for TV listings, and participate in a variety of other interactive TV programming.
