The TIA serves as the voice of the communications and information technology industry. Its members include vendors, service providers, and organizations that get involved in all aspects of modern communications networks. The TIA gets involved in legislative efforts, international marketing opportunities, tradeshow sponsorship, and standards development. The TIA works in association with the EIA (Electronic Industries Association), and recently affiliated with the MultiMedia Telecommunications Association to work jointly on the convergence of computing technologies and communications. The TIA's Web site provides educational material related to network design and cabling.
