TDMA is a wireless digital communication scheme for cellular phone systems that allocates time slots to multiple users within a single channel. It works over existing AMPS (Advanced Mobile Phone Service) frequencies, providing digital service instead of analog service for up to three calls per channel. Also see "Wireless Mobile Communications."
