Stateful Inspection Technology Related Entries Web Links New/Updated Information Note: Many topics at this site are reduced versions of the text in "The Encyclopedia of Networking and Telecommunications." Search results will not be as extensive as a search of the book's CD-ROM. Stateful inspection is a firewall technology developed by Check Point Software and implemented in its FireWall-1 product. Stateful inspection actively tracks all TCP and UDP connections during their life. When a packet arrives from outside the firewall, it must belong to a TCP or UDP connection that is being tracked. If not, the packet is dropped. See "Firewall." Copyright (c) 2001 Tom Sheldon and Big Sur Multimedia. |
