RIPE (Réseaux IP Européens) Related Entries Web Links New/Updated Information Note: Many topics at this site are reduced versions of the text in "The Encyclopedia of Networking and Telecommunications." Search results will not be as extensive as a search of the book's CD-ROM. RIPE is a nonprofit organization established to administer and register Internet Protocol (IP) numbers in Europe. It allocates blocks of IP addresses that it has received from IANA (Internet Assigned Number Authority). Two similar organizations exist: ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers) and APNIC (Asia Pacific Network Information Centre). Refer to "Registries on the Internet."
