Netcasting Related Entries Web Links New/Updated Information Note: Many topics at this site are reduced versions of the text in "The Encyclopedia of Networking and Telecommunications." Search results will not be as extensive as a search of the book's CD-ROM. Netcasting (or "Webcasting") is an alternative to Web browsing. With Web browsing, users go out on the Web and look for information. With Netcasting, information is automatically delivered to users' desktops. Netcasting is often referred to as "push" technology because content is pushed from a Web server and delivered to users who have requested receipt of the content. Content may include the latest news, weather, stock quotes, or software updates. See "Webcasting." Copyright (c) 2001 Tom Sheldon and Big Sur Multimedia. |
