Incident Response Related Entries Web Links New/Updated Information Note: Many topics at this site are reduced versions of the text in "The Encyclopedia of Networking and Telecommunications." Search results will not be as extensive as a search of the book's CD-ROM. A security incident is a breach of security, an attack by a hacker, a Trojan horse, a virus, and so on. Incident response deals with how these are handled. Administrators should be prepared in advance for such events and have a planned response. Appropriate mechanisms must be in place to detect security breaches and then do something about them. See "Security Auditing." Copyright (c) 2001 Tom Sheldon and Big Sur Multimedia. |
