Fractional T1/Fractional T3 Related Entries Web Links New/Updated Information Note: Many topics at this site are reduced versions of the text in "The Encyclopedia of Networking and Telecommunications." Search results will not be as extensive as a search of the book's CD-ROM. A fractional T1 line is a subchannel of a full T1 line. There are 24 fractional T1 lines in a full T1 line and each has a bandwidth of 64 Kbits/sec, which is just enough bandwidth to handle one digitized voice call. There are 28 T1 channels in a T3 line. Users can purchase one or more fractional lines without the need to purchase the full line and can add additional fractional lines at any time. Copyright (c) 2001 Tom Sheldon and Big Sur Multimedia. |
