SCSP (Server Cache Synchronization Protocol)
Note: Many topics at this site are reduced versions of the text in "The Encyclopedia of Networking and Telecommunications." Search results will not be as extensive as a search of the book's CD-ROM.
SCSP is described in RFC 2334 (Server Cache Synchronization Protocol-SCSP, April 1998) as a protocol that attempts to solve the cache synchronization/cache-replication problem, which occurs when a group of servers wish to synchronize information in their caches about the state of clients being served. SCSP algorithms are described as being similar to the routing algorithms used in OSPF (Open Shortest Path First).
Refer to RFC 2334 for additional information. RFC 2335 (A Distributed NHRP Service Using SCSP, April 1998) describes how SCSP is used to synchronize the client information databases held by NHRP (Next Hop Resolution Protocol) servers within a LIS (logical IP subnet).
