Data Transfer Rates

Data transfer rates are a measure of the amount of digital information that can be transmitted through a channel per second. Data transfer rates are also referred to as throughput rates. A number of factors determine data transfer rates, including bandwidth of the line, transmission impairments, distance, media type, and so on.
